  • Yes, we take individual players who do not have a team, however, due to the influx of individual players we have received in previous seasons we now require parents to join our “Newcastle junior Oztag individual players” group on our Facebook page.

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/1303901983671463

Once you have joined you can post in the group to ask if any teams need a team OR you can even create your team from individual players who are looking for a team.

We will monitor this group and always be assisting in trying to find your child a team, however in some circumstances, your child may miss out if teams are full or it's closer to the cut-off date for registrations. It is advised to get in quick!

  • It is a requirement to play in the Newcastle Junior Oztag competition that all teams have the SAME shirt/singlet. Team Organisers are to organiser team shirts (Newcastle Junior Oztag do not organise your team shirts/singlets)

ALL shirts or singlets must be able to be tucked in all the way around to avoid injuries. Teams will not be allowed to take the field with team shirts that do not fit the criteria due to safety reasons. If you’re unsure please contact us and send us a photo before the start of the competition.

It is advised that you source your shirts/singlets from a local supplier as overseas can have delays. We also recommend having 2 spare shirts just incase a player loses there shirt or it gets damaged.

Children are welcome to play up with their friends as long as the parents allow them. You just can't play down an age group.

  • PLAYING DOWN AN AGE DIVISION:

Is NOT allowed, players must play in their own age group or they can play up.

Players are allowed to play up one age division only. The parents must be aware of this as it can be a 2 year age difference. eg 8 year old playing in U10s age division.

  • Teams in the U6 & U8 divisions must have a minimum of 9 players registered to secure their team in the competition prior to the cut-off date which is will be included in the team organiser pack.

We recommend 9 players for the 6 a side divisions, this allows 3 substitutes incase of injury, illness, holidays etc

Teams U10 and above must have a minimum of 10 players registered to secure their team in the competition prior to the cut-off date. It is recommended that you have at least 11 or 12 players registered for these age divisions this allows 3 or 4 substitutes incase of injury, illness, holidays etc

You may register as many players as you wish to your team, the above numbers are the MINIMUM requirement needed to secure your spot in the competition, you can still add more players after you have met the minimum requirement.

  • You are welcome to register more players after the cut off and throughout the competition if needed.

Registrations are open all competition for U6 non competitive teams.

Your team will FORFEIT the game if you play or attempt to play an unregistered player. If this incident is deemed to be more than a forfeit the committee will be in contact with the team organiser.
